The history, board of directors and statutes of the Associació Esportiva Mountain Runners del Berguedà.
History
The Associació Esportiva Mountain Runners del Berguedà was founded in 2004 by a group of friends who loved mountain sports. In late 2005, the procedures to formally establish the club were completed. In July 2006, the Consell Català de l'Esport approved its statutes and registered the sports organisation under number 12637 in the Generalitat de Catalunya's Register of Sports Organisations. We then joined the Federació d'Entitats Excursionistes de Catalunya (FEEC) and were entered in the register of the Federación Española de Deportes de Montaña y Escalada (FEDME). In 2011, our organisation was included in the Register of Organisers of Physical and Sporting Activities in the Natural Environment under number C177.
President's message
MRB is a leading club at country level, thanks to its long track record and to being a pioneer club in creating a trail school. As a club we also run a ski mountaineering school with young Olympic medallists, and we have now built synergies with another entity to create the first BTT school in the territory. All children and young people, besides practising the sport they love most, learn to value effort, teamwork, respect for nature, commitment and consistency: all those values that the monitors pass on to them in an enjoyable and enriching way. The sum of all this makes them enjoy their favourite sport, whether trail, ski mountaineering or BTT, and keeps them learning and improving year after year.
We are located in one of the best places to practise trail running and the mountains: we have a wide variety of trails, forests, mountains and peaks to enjoy this sport all year round.
We are a club of about 500 members, with a committed board eager to keep working to grow, to improve training, facilities and services, to offer all members everything they deserve and, above all, to see how children keep learning and improving day by day, some of them reaching high-level competition: they are young and have clear goals.
